During the Second World War, the Nazis were able to conquer Europe. Of all of the countries in Europe, only Britain was able to win back control of its country. The Germans were able to conquer the European country by wiping out the British army. The Nazis believed that they wouldn’t have any problem conquering Germany because Britain would surrender to them after they were able to conquer their country.
However, the British military was not defeated while they were fighting in Europe. Instead, they won back control of their country while they were still fighting outside of it. This is an example of how nobody returned alive from war.
